(Toronto, ON – October 25, 2019) – Paying homage to their punk rock roots the Headstones continue to embrace their unique DIY punk rock philosophy and with PEOPLESKILLS, remind us of why they are one of Canada’s most enduring bands. The ability to evolve while still remaining true to their original aesthetic is a rare thing but the Headstones have been able to do this with the help of their own brand of brash self assuredness. On PEOPLESKILLS, the Headstones have never sounded more urgent, relentless or raw. From the opening notes of the lead single “Leave It All Behind”, through to the sweeping orchestral sounds of “Motorcade” and ending with the crunching guitars and wailing harmonica of album closer “That’s What I Get”, PEOPLESKILLS is a 34 minute sonic journey that showcases why this band endures and thrives.
The band is also sharing a brand-new video for album track “Dimes and Pennies.” Like the video for the lead single “Leave It All Behind” this video was also shot with director Gord Hawkins and filmed at the famed Kingston Penitentiary. Watch the video here.
The first single from PEOPLESKILLS “Leave It All Behind” is at radio now and hit #5 on the Billboard Rock Chart and #7 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart this week with no signs of slowing down. The video has been viewed over 140k times.
Headstones will also play The Phoenix in Toronto on December 7th as part of the 94.9 The Rock Craig Venn & Lucky’s Unsilent Night concert with Finger Eleven. A portion of proceeds going to benefit the Unison Benevolent Fund.
The Headstones have a recording career that spans three decades eight albums and multiple chart-topping singles; however Little Army is the band’s highest debuting full-length in over a decade, hitting #3 on the Alternative Album Charts and #13 on The Current Album Charts. Lead single “Devil’s on Fire” lived in the Top 5 on the Canadian Active Rock Radio Charts for 20 weeks, and sat at #1 for three weeks. PEOPLESKILLS stays true to the Headstones DIY and punk rock attitude and is set to be the band’s biggest record yet. The Headstones are Hugh Dillon, Tim White, Trent Carr, Steve Carr, Rickferd Van Dyk and Jesse Labovitz.
