(Toronto, ON – April 24, 2020) – Today, alt-rock group The Treble are celebrating the release of their anticipated full-length album Rivals. The band have been teasing tracks from the album since last year, and today fans can finally listen in its entirety here.
The Treble are also excited to share the self-produced official video for their new single “No Secrets (There For You)”. The video sees the band recreating 45 iconic music videos from the 80s including clips from DEVO, Talking Heads, George Michael and many more. “The video is a hilarious shot for shot remake of a bunch of our favourite videos from the 80s.” says the band. “We had started the project pre-quarantine, but thankfully the concept made it something we could continue during the lockdown. We each filmed separately on green screens to complete the project and came out with one of the most fun videos we’ve worked on to date!” Check it out here and see how many videos you can spot: https://youtu.be/Xcu1_zuI8fI
On the inspiration behind the track, “My friend and his girlfriend broke up because she thought he was stepping out. He was actually too embarrassed to tell her he was playing Pokémon Go. “No Secrets (There For You) is a song about trust. It’s about being so afraid to be yourself around someone, that you drive them away because you’ve become someone else. We are afraid to show people who we are, but when we don’t, we can become the worst of the little pieces that we give them. Love is a risk.”
Rivals, produced by Ryan Worsley and the band, follows The Treble’s 2018 releaseModernaires. The band’s tracks have been streamed over 1.7 million times and have been featured on some of Spotify’s biggest playlists including Rock Favourites, Ready To Rock, Indie Favourites, Alternative Generation and Rock Your Block. They also recently performed at The Edge’s Sugar Beach Sessions and forIndie88’s Black Box session. Be sure to watch the band’s recent videos for “Eyes On Us,” “Fix of You” and “Saturday Night”.
