(Toronto, ON – March 20, 2020) – Today, Allen Stone has fulfilled a long-standing wish of his fans with the release of a Tiny Desk Concert that is sure-to-be one of the most soulfully moving NPR sessions in recent years.

Allen brought to the legendary DC HQ of NPR the meticulously constructed stripped-down re-imaginings of “Consider Me” (which GQ recently called one of the “Best Love Songs of 2020”), “Give You Blue” (a touching ode to devotion he wrote for his wife shortly after proposing), his rousing unanimous fan-favorite “Brown Eyed Lover,” and “American Privilege”, a song that feels especially poignant in the midst of the current public health situation and political climate.

Whether in the studio recording his acclaimed latest album Building Balance, performing live for thousands of people nightly on the record’s corresponding tour (35,000 tickets sold throughout his entire US run), or singing face-to-face with fans as part of his unprecedented 2019 “Karaoke Extravaganza” tour, Allen brings to life his expertly-written slice-of-life soul with heartfelt integrity, vocals that seem to defy gravity, and an effortlessly irresistible charisma.

Today’s Tiny Desk is no exception, with Allen’s charm & spirit-shaking vocals on perfect & full display, accompanied by the likes of pianist Michael Elson and vocally backed the powerhouse trio of Moorea Masa, Jessica Childress, & Raquel Rodriguez. NPR Music producer Bobby Carter echoed this sentiment saying, “I’ve been an Allen Stone fan for quite some time and I knew it was only a matter of time before he played the Tiny Desk. The remainder of Allen’s stateside tour (including three sold-out shows in his beloved home city of Seattle) have been postponed and will be rescheduled soon. In this moment of global unrest, Allen is also working to give back, recently performing as part of Billboard’s ” Live At-Home series and raising money for an organization of his choosing (LA’s Downtown Women’s Center).

(Toronto, ON – September 17, 2019) – Soulful vanguard Soulful vanguard Allen Stone’s forthcoming record Building Balance will be released November 8th (ATO Records), taking his soul-stirring R&B and funk to the next artistic level. Allen continues to draw inspiration from ’70s funk and soul with current flexes, sitting amid D’Angelo in its sultrier moments, Stevie Wonder at its most melodic and the production of Mark Ronson at its most modern. The album features the most personal, lushly produced and gorgeously performed songs of Allen’s career.

Building Balance was largely written in a cabin in the woods of Washington state and recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville with three producers: the acclaimed British artist/producer Jaime Lidell, Grammy-winning producer Nasri (of Magic!), and Jeremy Most (Emily King). The album is a textured amalgam of R&B and soul, a result of several personal co-writing sessions, collaborations with Emily King, Mike Posner & Theo Katzman / Joey Dosik of Vulfpeck, and lyrics by Allen. Equal parts sentimental (“Brown Eyed Lover”, “Consider Me”) and replete with nostalgic funk (“Back to the Swing”, “Sweaters”), Allen’s third album shows an artist who has grown into his own and learned to balance and appreciate all parts of his life: the vices of the past and the gifts of the present, career and family, the brilliant highs and discouraging lows.

“The balance through the turmoil of strife and struggle is the best balance you can build because you’re growing, you’re strengthening, you’re utilizing muscles,” he says of the album. “If it was a cake walk then you’re not gonna fortify those tendons or that willpower.”

Today, he releases new single “Sunny Days” The song is an R&B ode to euphoric love that features slick rap verses alongside Allen’s smooth delivery in his stunningly transformative upper range. Of “Sunny Days”, Allen says the track “is a feel good, throwback song about being confident in the love you have for another. Like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day the melody cools and comforts. There is no feeling more beautiful than trusting in love.”

Having just wrapped a summer tour with Train, Allen Stone will hit the road on October 23rd for a live 15-date karaoke tour of intimate rooms. (Toronto, ON – December 11, 2018) Allen Stone has released a new remix for his single, “Warriors,” today via ATO Records. The disco dub remix was produced by Treasure Fingers, an acclaimed DJ signed to Fool’s Gold Records.

The anthem “Warriors” was debuted this past summer during a live performance on ABC’s broadcast of the Special Olympics opening ceremony which featured Stone backed by his band and a 2000 member choir. Since then, the song has been spotlighted in promos during game broadcasts by ESPN College Football and FOX NFL.

“Warriors”, came in a period of struggle”, Stone explains. “Inspiration hadn’t come through to visit for a while. I had felt like I was just pushing a big rock up a hill while wearing flip-flops. I was reminded in that moment that true success comes when you face adversity head on and push through those moments of hardship. Walk tall like Warriors even when terrified.”

The “Warriors” remix follows recent singles “Taste Of You” and “Brown Eyed Lover“, both produced by Jamie Lidell. The songs preview Stone’s upcoming full-length album which will be released in 2019.

TORONTO, ON – June 29, 2018 – Washington state R&B/soul singer-songwriter Allen Stone has released a new single, “Warriors”, today via ATO Records – share the lyric video via YouTube – in advance of a performance of the track this Sunday, July 1 on ABC’s broadcast of the Special Olympics opening ceremony in Seattle – Stone will be backed during the performance by a 2000 member choir. The single, produced by Jamie Lidell, will be featured on an as-yet-to-be announced full-length album, which Stone has been putting the finishing touches on.

Discussing the song, Allen stated, “This song came in a period of struggle. Inspiration hadn’t come through to visit for a while. I had felt like I was just pushing a big rock up a hill while wearing flip-flops. I was reminded in that moment that true success comes when you face adversity head on and push through those moments of hardship. Walk tall like Warriors even when terrified.”

Allen appeared on “American Idol” in April, performing a powerful duet of “Unaware” with contestant Dennis Lorenzo, that blowing away the judges, including Lionel Richie who stated, “That was spectacular.” The performance led to more than 15,000 sales of the digital single of “Unaware” and more than 5,000 album downloads in the weeks following. Additionally Allen’s spring track release, “Brown Eyed Lover”, broke into the Spotify Viral Charts and made it to #11 in the U.S. The song now has more than 3 million streams.

Stone has additionally announced a number of new dates to his already massive fall headlining tour. The tour will kick off October 11 in Portland, OR and wrap back in Seattle, December 17. VIP ticket bundles include exclusive soundcheck entry, meet & greet, a limited edition lyric sheet and more. Stone has two BC dates in July including July 14th in Vancouver at The Truck Stop Concert Series, followed by an apperances at Rock the Shores on July 15!

U.S. FALL HEADLINING TOUR ANNOUNCED

TORONTO, ON – April 10, 2018 – Washington state R&B/Soul singer-songwriter Allen Stone appeared on last night’s episode of ‘American Idol’ as a guest coach performing his hit “Unaware” with contestant Dennis Lorenzo [watch it here]. Stone will return for next Monday’s episode, this time performing the Marvin Gaye classic, “What’s Going On”, with contestant Marcio Donaldson. In conjunction Stone released a new song, “Brown Eyed Lover“, via ATO Records, kicking off a massive, special collaborative spring tour with Andrew McMahon, Zach Clark and Bob Oxblood tonight in Kansas City, and announcing a fall headlining tour (all confirmed dates below).

About the single, Allen stated, I am a slave to the road, constantly in a different city, always on the other side of town, never in the same bed for more than a night. It seemed as though I chose a lifestyle that wasn’t lending itself to be shared with a partner. That was until I met my soon to be wife. “Brown Eyed Lover” depicts the internal struggle of being in a relationship while also being on the road – the struggle of having to leave constantly for my career but wanting my relationship to move forward. I don’t want to keep her waiting.

Allen has spent the past few months in the studio working on new material. “Brown Eyed Lover” is a first taste of the new material, some of which will be destined for a new full-length record later in 2018. Today’s announcement of fall headlining dates looks forward to that new music with anticipation. A Fan Pre-Sale goes live on Wednesday, April 11, with tickets open to all on Friday, April 13.

This spring’s “Pen and Piano Tour” with McMahon, Cark, Oxblood and Stone will feature the musicians sharing the stage throughout the night. Equal parts VH1 ‘Storytellers’ and ‘Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood’, each artist will perform a mix of their own music, as well as collaborating together, while sharing stories with the audience in an intimate “living room” atmosphere. The tour comes to Toronto on May 31st at The Danforth.

Allen will also appear at Victoria’s Rock The Shore Festival July 13-15.
