(Toronto, ON – March 20, 2020) – Today, Allen Stone has fulfilled a long-standing wish of his fans with the release of a Tiny Desk Concert that is sure-to-be one of the most soulfully moving NPR sessions in recent years.

Allen brought to the legendary DC HQ of NPR the meticulously constructed stripped-down re-imaginings of “Consider Me” (which GQ recently called one of the “Best Love Songs of 2020”), “Give You Blue” (a touching ode to devotion he wrote for his wife shortly after proposing), his rousing unanimous fan-favorite “Brown Eyed Lover,” and “American Privilege”, a song that feels especially poignant in the midst of the current public health situation and political climate.

Whether in the studio recording his acclaimed latest album Building Balance, performing live for thousands of people nightly on the record’s corresponding tour (35,000 tickets sold throughout his entire US run), or singing face-to-face with fans as part of his unprecedented 2019 “Karaoke Extravaganza” tour, Allen brings to life his expertly-written slice-of-life soul with heartfelt integrity, vocals that seem to defy gravity, and an effortlessly irresistible charisma.

Today’s Tiny Desk is no exception, with Allen’s charm & spirit-shaking vocals on perfect & full display, accompanied by the likes of pianist Michael Elson and vocally backed the powerhouse trio of Moorea Masa, Jessica Childress, & Raquel Rodriguez. The remainder of Allen’s stateside tour (including three sold-out shows in his beloved home city of Seattle) have been postponed and will be rescheduled soon. In this moment of global unrest, Allen is also working to give back, recently performing as part of Billboard’s ” Live At-Home series and raising money for an organization of his choosing (LA’s Downtown Women’s Center).

The song/video highlights the excitement of wedding day and searching for just the right words to express one’s love. Allen Stone partnered with WeddingWire, a global online wedding planning resource, to conceptualize the featured couple’s relationship leading up to their wedding day, showcased throughout the music video. Their relationship journey ultimately turns into their wedding day vows, and is inspired by real WeddingWire couples and their unique love stories.

On the heels of a one-of-kind karaoke tour that saw him belting hits from his own catalogue and sing-along smash hits, the soulful singer-songwriter will embark on his biggest headlining tour supporting latest album Building Balance, out on November 8th via ATO Records. Stone will also be performing on TODAY on December 4th and Jimmy Kimmel Live! on December 9th.

The 35-date run promises an intimate and fun-loving night of Allen Stone diving into his catalogue and playing cuts from the new record, from sentimental “Brown-Eyed Lover” to touching ode “Give You Blue.”He will be hitting stopping in major cities such as New York City, LA, Toronto, Vancouver and more.

Building Balance is a soul-stirring collection of songs, rooted in a mix of genres from 70s D.C. go-go music and hip-hop to soulful funk à la Stevie Wonder and is his third record. (Toronto, ON – October 22, 2019) – Today, Allen Stone releases “Give You Blue”, one of his most soulful & personal songs yet and the latest track from forthcoming record Building Balance (out November 8 via ATO Records). The “disarmingly soulful” (Billboard) R&B singer-songwriter went deep to write and record a song about love on a very personal level: “When the sky turns gray / I will give you blue” he trills over a twinkling piano, a promise of love as eternal as this song feels.

“I had recently gotten engaged to my wife and was on yet another trip to another city away from her,” says Allen of the new track. “It seemed like our entire relationship was conceived at a distance. I was in LA writing with my friend Mike Posner. It was on one particular night of this trip that Mike, myself and our friend Adam got to talking about my new engagement. I opened up and spoke about the reality of my love. The reality that seemed to be so vacant from my music. In that moment I started singing the first line of “Give You Blue”, “I can’t stop the rain, but I will keep you dry”. It so embodied the emotion that I felt in that moment of distance from my wife. The reality of love is not one of perfection but of persistence. On the day of our wedding, I sang “Give You Blue” to my wife.”

Building Balance was largely written in a cabin in the woods of Washington state and partially recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville with three producers: the acclaimed British artist/producer Jamie Lidell, Grammy-winning producer Nasri (Magic!), and Jeremy Most (Emily King).
