(Toronto, ON – September 6,2019) – It’s been a year since The Trews released their critically acclaimed and JUNO nominated album Civilinaires. Today they give fans a special treat with brand new slick and catchy single, “Touch”. Listen/ watch the video here.

On the track, produced again by Derek Hoffman (Civilinaires), Colin MacDonald explains, “We’ve written a lot of tunes in the past two years, here’s one of the latest from our very fruitful collaboration with the incredible Derek Hoffman. This is a conversation set to some catchy chords and a pretty melody. It’s about feeling disconnected and trying your best to reconnect.”

The Trews have had an incredible year since releasing Civilianaires. The album debuted at #1 on the Alternative Album Chart, was nominated for Rock Album of the Year at this year’s JUNOs, won Rock Group of The Year at Canadian Music Week’s Jim Bean Indie Awards, and most recently they performed the halftime show at the CFL Season Opener in Hamilton. Civilinaires is the band’s most fearless record yet with personal and political lyrics driven by a refreshing new sound for the band.

The Trews, have a jam packed touring schedule for the rest of the year, including a special performance in Kingston for “Rockin’ the Big House” at the Kingston Penitentiary alongside members of The Tragically Hip, Headstones and more. (Toronto, ON – November 5, 2018) – Today, The Trews release the brand new video for their single “Vintage Love”. The video captures live performances from this summer at The Rec Room Toronto, The Kee to Bala, The CNE, and an intimate gig at Hard Luck in Toronto. Check out the video here.

“Vintage Love”, which is currently sitting at #10 on the Active Radio charts in Canada, comes off the band’s most recent effort Civilianires (Cadence Recordings). The album debuted on the Current Album chart at #6, #3 on Digital Current Album chart and the #1 on the Alternative Album chart.

The Trews have a ton of upcoming tour dates over the coming months. They will return to their roots, playing a show in Halifax on November 9th at The Marquee, followed by a very special performance for Hometown Hockey in Glace Bay on November 11th. In the new year, The Trews will head out on a national tour that will kick off at the end of January, having them make stops in Vancouver, Kelowna, Saskatoon, Toronto and more – see below for full list of tour dates. THE TREWS TO JOIN THE 2018 CP HOLIDAY TRAIN LINEUP

CP CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF COLLECTING FOOD AND RAISING FUNDS

FOR LOCAL FOOD BANKS ACROSS CANADA AND THE U.S.

Toronto, ON – October 11, 2018 – The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train will soon set out once again to entertain hundreds of thousands of people, celebrating 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for food banks across North America. The Trews will hop on board the second leg of the trip with Willy Porter in Chicago to complete the trip through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota before arriving at their final destination in Weyburn, Sask. on December 16.

The CP Holiday Train program launched in 1999 and has since raised more than C$14.5 million and gathered 4.3 million pounds of food for communities along CP’s routes in Canada and the United States.

Beginning in Montreal on Nov. 25 and 27 respectively, two trains will make the festive journey, travelling through both the U.S. and Canada to bring holiday cheer to 164 communities along CP’s network. Each event is free, with CP encouraging attendees to open their cupboards and wallets to help address hunger needs in their communities. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop to ensure those less fortunate have enough healthy food this holiday season.

“We are excited to be part of the CP Holiday Train this year which takes us through the US Midwest. This will be our first time touring by train, which is something we’ve always wanted to do, and to do so while being able to raise some money and put food on local shelves at this most important time of year makes it all the more special. We can’t wait!” says guitarist John-Angus MacDonald.

Toronto, ON- September 17, 2018 – Last week, The Trews released their sixth full-length studio album Civilianaires and today they’re excited to announce they will be bringing these brand new songs out on the road at the top of 2019. The tour will take them across the country kicking off in Vancouver with stops through Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and more, see below for full list of tour dates. Civilianaires is the band’s most fearless record yet with personal and political lyrics driven by a refreshing new sound. The Trews approached Civilianaires, their follow-up to 2014’s The Trews, the way a contractor tackles a kitchen reno: tearing things down to the studs, then building out piece by new piece. “We’re almost in existential-crisis-mode if we don’t have new songs we’re excited about,” guitarist/songwriter John-Angus MacDonald says, “With us it’s always ‘What’s next?’ We’re most galvanized while we’re creating. And this new album is a completely fresh take on what we’ve done before.”

It features production credits from up and comer Derek Hoffman (The Elwins, Seaway) and the legendary Bob Rock. The band also worked alongside Max Kerman from Arkells, who co-wrote and co-produced their second single “Vintage Love”, along with a co-write with Serena Ryder on the title track.
