(Toronto, ON – September 18, 2019) – Earlier this summer, NPR Music named Nilüfer Yanya’s debut album Miss Universe one of the Best Albums of 2019 (So Far), while listeners voted her the #3 Best New Artist of 2019, behind only Billie Eilish and Maggie Rogers. Today, NPR shares Yanya’s incredible Tiny Desk concert, where she played stripped-down versions of her songs “Baby Luv,” “Angels,” and “The Unordained.” Watch and share the session HERE. Since its March release, Miss Universe has since seen widespread acclaim from a vast number of publications, including an NPR First Listen, Pitchfork Best New Music, and Rolling Stone Artist You Need to Know accolades. Yanya’s Tiny Desk concert follows her TV debut performance of “In Your Head” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
After selling out shows in New York, Chicago, and Toronto earlier this year, Yanya kicks off her first U.S. West Coast headlining tour this week followed by performances at the ACL Music Festival in Austin and Foro Indie Rocks in Mexico City.
